We run all year long from one job to another and they keep on accumulating inside our computer. In it, heavy files that take space for no reason or previous work we forgot we have already done, so we do it all over again.
Tonight, instead of watching another TV series on your PC, why don’t you take the time to clean it up a little bit? Here is some advice on how to go about it.
When is the last time you actually placed your folders in order? It is easier to keep a house clean than a computer, simply because, at some point, you’ll get tired of seeing an object in the wrong place, so you’ll put it away, where it belongs.
However, inside your computer, your folders are hidden from view, so they don’t bother you as much. But if you knew what was in there, you’d probably clear some space or use some files more often instead of recreating them over and over again.
You think your computer needs to be fixed because it is so slow? Before you go for laptop repairs, why don’t you try cleaning up your Windows system through various easy steps? Don’t worry; you don’t have to be a technician to do this. Microsoft has thought of everything so that anyone can proceed, every once in a while, to a good clean-up through its software.
Slower performance of a computer often comes from the accumulation of information inside the hard drive. The reason is simple: it searches longer for the files and the programs it needs to access. A full drive will cause Windows to not run properly, so you need to keep some space available.
If there isn’t at least 10GB, it is time to get rid of a few things you don’t use and have been keeping too long. To help you with the process, go in the Windows search box and type “Disk Clean-up”. The computer will guide you through the different options.
Programs you don’t use are only slowing your computer down. They are often quite heavy and take up space on your computer that it could use to gain speed or that you could utilize for other elements you need to save and keep.
To do so, go back to the search menu and this time type “Add or remove programs.” When you look at the programs, don’t start thinking that you may use them one day. If you haven’t done so before; time to get rid of it!
